In various ways and with loving gifts, fathers are celebrated again throughout the country. It is also a special day for Irene Clayton from Großhöflein (Burgenland).
Every day is a “Father’s Day” for the Nordburggländerwoman, because she has maintained her father Robert Unger at home since 2023. This was made possible by the country’s employment model. Her father is currently at care level 4. For you it was a conscious decision of gratitude and love. “My parents looked at my brother and me, now we of course look at Dad after my mother died,” explains Clayton.
This care model has brought security and stability and also strengthened relationships. “My father lives in the family, he is in the event. Family Cohesie is healing for the soul,” says the daughter. She strengthened the employment contract of the Burgenland Care Service in her decision. A neighbor told her about it.
Your father is cared for at home – like 80 percent of people who need care in Austria. A point that is especially important to him: “It would break my father’s heart if he had to leave home,” said Clayton. For Father’s Day, she is aimed at her father, who has been a loyal “krone” reader for 25 years: “Thank you for everything you have done. I am so proud of you and love you with all my heart.”
700 people used the employment model
You are also satisfied with the development of the model. 700 people have been working since November 2019 and 380 families are currently benefiting. In the previous year, the model was extended to confidants without a family union.
“With our employment model for supervisory family members, we have responded to a reality of life,” says Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (Spö). After all, care often takes place in the family. The nurses earned it to be secured financial and social law. With a 40-hour week of care level 5 is the minimum wage of Burgenland, which is paid in the model, 14 times net at around 2300 euros. Depending on the level of care, the person who needs care needs a proportional deductible of the care allowance and the pension.
