The Mercedes Benz Vitoria template is called today on strike by the unions ELA, LAB and ESK, a day after the preliminary agreement between the other unions — UGT, CCOO, Ekintza and PIM, which make up the majority — with management to extend the agreement.
These three unions called the agreement insufficient (abolition of the sixth night and salary improvements from 2021 to 2026, among others) and decided to maintain the strike from next Wednesday. According to union sources, the follow-up 95%
The union federations calling the strike will hold a meeting today to to decide if they continue with the planned interruptions for Thursday and Friday
marathon meeting
After nearly eight hours of meetings, the management and union majority were CC. OO., UGT, PIM and Ekintza announced the provisional agreement. Union sources have confirmed that the agreement includes a non-cumulative payment of 4,000 euros gross, corresponding to 2021, a 6% salary increase this year and 2.25% increases from 2023 to 2026, as well as other economic and organizational improvements.
ELA, LAB and ESK have opposed this offer because it does not include pay increases equal to the CPI.

The terms of the agreement will then be subject to a referendum across the workforce Monday the 18th
The preliminary agreement also proposes the retirement of more than 250 people through shelter contracts, for those operators who meet the current legal conditions. As well as the conversion of 400 temporary contracts into open-ended contracts, 150 of which upon signature of the contract.
In addition, payments are collected based on targets; if the production of 200,000 vehicles per year is exceeded, 500 euros will be awarded; and a profit distribution of 2,250 euros per year based on indicators.
The Minister of Labor and Employment and Second Deputy Lehendakari of the Basque Government, Idoia Mendia, has celebrated the “very good news” of the preliminary agreement. “Very good news that has just come from Mercedes. Clear path for the project,” wrote Mendia on social networks about the investment of 1.2 billion euros for the factory in Vitoria-Gasteiz that conditioned the German multinational until the signing of the collective agreement.
