A transport flight of a drone went wrong in Tyrol: the battery suffered much faster than expected, the drone went into emergency mode – from that moment the pilot had no control over the flight object.
The drone had traveled on a transport flight with one and a half kilogram suitcase. The German drone pilot (71) flew the drone on behalf of a company from Nesselwängle to the Schnetalalpe – at least that would have been the plan. Because it should not get that far.
According to his own explanations, the German underestimated the headwind and the burden that was worn on the drone, so that the battery was released faster than expected. The drone went into emergency mode and had returned to the pilot independently, the police reported.
On the drone a suitcase with a rope, which got stuck on the roof roof and brought the drone to a crash. Fortunately, no people are damaged. It is still the subject of the investigation whether there was damage to the roof.
