The inflation was shot in June 10.2% on an annual basis, reaching the highest level since April 1985, as confirmed this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). In Euskadicprices rose by 1.8% in June, 9.6% more than in June 2021, bringing accumulated inflation to 5.7% so far this year, and in Navarrainflation was 10.2% in June, the same as the state average.
This year-on-year price increase, one and a half points higher than in May (8.7%), is mainly the result of higher fuel and fresh food prices.
The most volatile elements (fresh food and energy) are eliminated from the shopping cart, the Underlying inflation was 5.5%, the highest percentage since August 1993.
The sector with the most inflation in the CAV in June was Transportation, up 4.8%, followed by Housing (3.3%) and Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages (2%).
