The Tyrolean Social Services threaten a Ukrainian refugee family of five members in Schwaz (Unterinnntal) including the seriously disabled son (16) with “Delogation”. As an alternative, they offer massive accommodation. The Ukrainians are desperate – but combative.
Julia Fesesko (41), her husband Anton (39) and the children Vladislav (16), Veronika (14) and Estella (10) fled the unrest of war in their home country in March 2022. For three years the family has been living in a reasonably barrier -free apartment in Schwaz that has rented the Tyroolean Social Services (TSD).
Accessibility is so important because the 16-year-old Vladislav suffers from serious disabilities. It is in a wheelchair and needs 24-hour care.
Functional message from nothing
But now the Ukrainians are shaking before Monday: because the family has to leave the apartment. The function message of the TSD came out of nowhere. “The Fesenkos have never been informed that they have to get out,” says the Tyrolean Novel Scamoni, a friend of the family who supports them.
In fact, the Ukrainians should have cleaned up the apartment on Innsbrucker Strasse on 2 June. Unbelievable: the corresponding letter from the TSD only arrived on the suffering family on 26 May. Within seven days, the Ukrainians should have found an apartment themselves – moreover a disabled person.
“Numbers 1500 euros for the disabled -friendly apartment”
“We tried that too,” says Julia in an interview with the “Kroon”. “My husband works at the municipality of Pil, we are ready to pay a rent up to 1500 euros for a barrier -free apartment with three rooms in Schwaz and the surrounding area.” The fact that the search for an accommodation did not have to be mentioned within a week for family with the seriously disabled son does not have to be mentioned.
The TSD offered a replacement to the Ukrainians – in the distant St. Johann in Tyrol, in the equally distant Reith near Seefeld or in the pen. This is a kind of massive accommodation with shared kitchen, etc. “This is simply not possible with our Vladislav”, mother Julia is almost tears.
If necessary, the police must “help” with evacuation
TSD director Florian sees it proudly. “We are happy that we have found a replacement accommodation in the abbey,” is the TSD boss Salbant with the “Krone”. The Fesenkos should go there on Monday. TSD employees were already on Friday in Schwaz and names of the family’s objects. The TSD bus should come on Monday morning and, if necessary, the police, as was heard.
TSD has not passed on important information to the family
The Fesenkos must leave the apartment because the lease will end. “We informed the TSD about it in the fall 2024,” says Martin Wurm of the real estate company that takes care of the apartment. There was no interest in the TSD for extension and the information about the expiring contract was never reached by the Ukrainians. Now the apartment has already been rented.
And again, the Tyrolean Social Services (TSD) managed to collect the “negative price” of the week. It is not the first family to turn to the “Kroon” with their concerns and problems. The medium, which also listens to those who otherwise have no speech. When we discovered the mess in the emergency sleeping center in Innsbrucker Schusterbergweg, a former facility employee was almost defeated almost at the same time. It is still not known whether there is a connection between the crime and “whistleblowers” (uncover the complaints). According to the police, the investigation is still ongoing …
Since then, families who are cared for by the TSD have repeatedly reported with our problems with us. Almost everyone back and does not want their history to be published. For fear that you have to expect negative consequences from the TSD side. The situation is different with the family in Schwaz, who now has to free up their rooms – see the moving report of our editor Peter Freiberger Right. The family is back on the wall with her and has nothing to lose. The photos speak for themselves …
Hopefully everyone understands that this family with their reduced son cannot move to a room with a shared kitchen. You can hope that the TSD still does justice to its name and find a suitable social solution.
