The “old” Hotline 1450 will soon be introduced into new life. As Spö Vice-Chancellor Andreas Babler explains the “Krone”, the service will be extended to a kind of “Health Navigation system for the whole of Austria” from 2026 DIT is intended to take a first step in the direction of termination of the doctor.
It is probably the worst symptom of our chronically distracting health system: if you cannot afford a private doctor in Austria, you must wait longer for a doctor’s appointment. Waiting times that have worsened in many patients. In the election campaign, the Spös therefore called on the right to a doctor’s appointment within 14 days. Next year is a first step to take the schedule and the health hotel in 1450, which became known nationally, will be expanded as the “Corona number”. Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler wants to convert the hotline into a “health navigation system”.
Currently different services
“At 1450, everyone must receive exactly the medical care that she or she needs in the cashier. We will bring the Solidarity Health System to the 21st century,” explains the Spö Boss. The Hotline in Austria still differs from state to state. In Vienna, appointments in first -line care can already be booked in Vienna 1450. In Styria, a mobile emergency service is transferred via the service at night – and in Upper Austria there is a targeted assignment in the outpatient hospital.
Video advice and digital memories of doctors
“Our goal is a national basic offer that is available in every federal state,” says the Vice Chancellor. A joint investigation with the Federal States, Minister of Social Affairs Korinna Schumann and the responsible State Secretary Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig were already made. From 2026 the range will be expanded step by step. The first appointment services and video advice from medical staff and digital recall actions from doctors are planned.
