Despite a large contingent of emergency services, Sunday morning could not be prevented by the fire of a wooden blind in Puchkirchen am Trattberg (Upper Austria) that 16 animals were died and a car was destroyed. The cause of the fire was likely that an inflammatory strange body had accidentally entered between pressing hay bales.
It was on Sunday, shortly after 8 am, when a wooden state suddenly opened on a farm in Puchkirchen am Trattberg. Sheep, rabbits and chickens were housed in the attachment. Ten fire brigades with around 100 emergency services were carried out to the fire location, alarm level 2.
The 55-year-old owner and his neighbor tried to extinguish the flames until they arrived, but unfortunately they did not succeed. The 55-year-old suffered apparently in flue gas poisoning and had to be taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck.
16 killed animals
When the firefighters arrived, the Holzstadel was in full fire. But then they quickly managed to control the flames. Unfortunately there was no salvation for six rabbits and ten chickens, they died in the fire. A car parked in the attached car is completely burned out.
To be able to fully describe the fire, the hay that was stored in the city still had to be released from the building.
No arson
The police started investigating, together with experts from the Fire Prevention Center of Upper Austria, the cause of the fire was sought. Result: arson can be excluded. When pressing hay bales, a strange body should have been slipped into it. The exact amount of damage is still unknown.
