“Baby alarm” in the Falkenstein Nature Park in Lower Austria: the widow Gamsbock “Scharlinger” with his new love “Burgi” presents a sweet Fawn. The employees only expected offspring in 2026 at the earliest.
The joy is great among employees and visitors to the Falkenstein Nature Park in Schwarzau in the Bergen, District Nununkirchen. Suddenly a “baby” was surprising. This is despite the fact that the love between the once lonely Gamsbock “Scharlinger” and his companion “Burgi” is so fresh.
Nobody expected offspring
The two Gamstern got to know each other alone in October, after speaking, after he had brought “Burgi” from the Wildlife Park to Schwarzau in the Mostviertel. The reason for this was that the Gamsbock in the Falkenstein Nature Park, after his previous companion had died, felt lonely.
Already during the first meeting of the two it turned out that the chemistry was right. Given the short introductory phase, it was a surprise when the young animal was suddenly born on May 25. Because the staff of the Natuurpark had expected young people at the earliest in 2026.
Girl or man?
“The gender of the Gamskitz cannot yet be recognized exactly – something like that can only be determined as soon as the young animal urinates in the presence of the employees,” explains Tanja Streif from the market city of Schwarzau. There are already name suggestions: at the request of the sponsors of “Burgi”, the sweet little “Clara” or “Benjamin” must be called – depending on whether it is a man or a woman.
