The Italian Adriatic coast currently influences a strange and worrying environmental phenomenon. For months, thousands of small black plastic slices have gathered on the beaches, both in the north and in the south – washed through the sea.
The discovery aroused the interest of environmental activists. The black discs made from polyethylene apparently come from a sewage treatment plant in North Italia, as the daily newspaper “Corriere della Sera” reported.
The Swedish production slices are used in sewage treatment plants. Her presence in the sea indicates a malfunction in a system. The first appearance at the beginning of the year on the beaches of Rosolina in the Northern Italian province of Rovigo and now even in South -Italian Apulia support the assumption that the windows could have come in the Adriatic purification installation along the Esch River in North Isaly.
