The Italian Adriatic coast currently influences a strange and worrying environmental phenomenon. For months, thousands of small black plastic slices have gathered on the beaches, both in the north and in the south – washed through the sea.

The discovery aroused the interest of environmental activists. The black discs made from polyethylene apparently come from a sewage treatment plant in North Italia, as the daily newspaper “Corriere della Sera” reported.

The Swedish production slices are used in sewage treatment plants. Her presence in the sea indicates a malfunction in a system. The first appearance at the beginning of the year on the beaches of Rosolina in the Northern Italian province of Rovigo and now even in South -Italian Apulia support the assumption that the windows could have come in the Adriatic purification installation along the Esch River in North Isaly.

In the meantime, the Carabinieri have also been informed about the phenomenon. This case is a particularly treacherous form of modern pollution: the release of industrial microc components that unnoticed in the environment, warned Enzo Suma, founder of the Archeoplastica project, which has been monitoring on the Adriatic coast for years.
