The Serere Ukrainian refugee family is grateful for the interim apartment of the city of Schwaz, Neos Club chairman Birgit Obermüller is still shocked and wants Tirol’s LHSTV. Philip Wohlgemuth.
From an apartment of the Tyroolean Social Services (TSD) they did not have to move through their own fault, now the Ukrainian refugee family Fesko has been given a place to stay in an apartment in the city of Schwaz. The family of five with the heavily disabled Vladislav (16) now lives on less than 60 square meters.
Finding an apartment stays upright
The city of Schwaz is very grateful for this. Towards the end of the year, the Ukrainians want to find an optimally suitable apartment. The family could pay 1500 euros per month from his own pocket.
In the meantime, state politics also intervened. “This case opened by the ‘Kroon’ shocked me too,” responds Birgit Obermüller, club chairman and social spokeswoman for the Neos in the State Parliament. “The way the family was treated cannot be accepted.”
Questions in the State Parliament
It is clear to them that the responsible LHSTV. Philip Wohlgemuth can not only deport this responsibility for the TSD, but had to act. “That is why we will prepare a number of questions in the upcoming State parliament session about how to deal with and can be disabled,” Obermüller announced. “We suspect that this is not an isolated matter.”
Generally difficult search for accommodation
But the case also shows how difficult it is for all families in Tyrol with a similar fate to find enough apartments. And there are too few living spaces for people with disabilities, especially for young adults with disabilities.
It is constantly talking about raising the need, this is very simple, says Obermüller. “You should just ask how many students with multiple disabilities are needed in the coming years.”
