In the night of Wednesday there was a large-scale operation by the fire brigade in the Lower Austrian district of Horn. In Maiersch in the municipality of Gars am Kamp, about 100 firefighters were deployed in a farm fire. The fire caused extensive damage, but no one was injured.
The residents of the farm noticed the fire themselves and alerted the emergency services around 2 a.m. Initially, they only assumed a roof truss fire. However, when the fire brigade arrived, the barn and the entire house were already on fire.
House and barn heavily damaged
The house and barn were badly damaged by the fire. However, immediately adjacent adjacent objects could be protected, reports the FF Gars am Kamp in a broadcast.
All fire brigades from the Gars am Kamp marketplace were present, as well as helpers from the Krems district. A turntable ladder from FF Horn was also used for the extinguishing work.
