The clear summer weather wanted to benefit from a 77-year-old in the Vorarlberg Montafon on Sunday for a flight with his paraglider. The plan: from Hochjoch above Schruns the man wanted to fly to Vandans to the Valley station of the Golmerbahn. A company that failed in a dramatic way.
Even in the local area of Schruns, the Paraglid pilot lost more and more height due to the strong headwind. Because he was all too deep to fly to Vandan, the man was planning to carry out an emergency landing in the Schruns area.
Man clawed on the facade
To do this, he attracted the attention of the paved parking space between a hardware store and the employee house of a Schrunser hotel. The paraglider on the roof corner of the employee house, however, got stuck in the Landemanöver. The 77-year-old, who was still hung on the Paraglider, was able to keep up with a height of about seven meters.
Several passers -by who had observed the incident carried out emergency calls and hurried to help the man with a ladder. The Paraglider pilot was then free and got off the ladder. He was not injured by the accident.
Emergency helicopter flew “empty” again
The Paraglimger was then used by the Brigades Schruns and St. Gallenkirch fire brigade, which were used in total with five vehicles and 32 Florianis, using the turntable ladder of the house roof. Fortunately, the alarmed rescue helicopter Christophorus 8 was able to fly again without a patient.
