Dramatic swimming accident on Wednesday evening in Innsbruck! A 28-year-old Somali could no longer keep his head above water at the quarry pond. Another bather (23) reacted immediately and pulled the motionless man out of the water.
The accident happened around 6:30 PM. “After the Somali was unable to keep his head above water, a 23-year-old recognized the emergency situation, jumped into the lake and brought the 28-year-old to shore,” police said. The local population, along with other attendees, provided first aid until the rescue team arrived.

“The cause of the accident is not yet known at this time,” said the director. The 28-year-old was taken to the clinic after successful resuscitation with the rescue helicopter “in a stable state of health”, the researchers say. The Innsbruck Water Rescue Service, the Innsbruck Rescue Service, the rescue helicopter and the police were in action.
