The needle on the Tauern highway is history from today. From 7.52 am the tunnel lights jumped on green: the first drivers ran backwards due to the recently renovated A10 tunnel. Consolides come before the summer, but not in Tennengau. The descent of the A10 does not all make everyone happy.
The large tunnel construction site between Golling and throwing on the Tauern highway is over! For two years, the needle tube with one lane offered mega caps and stuffy adjacent communities due to alternative traffic. It was over at 7.52 am. Now it says: Free travel!
But the bad news: there will be further traffic jams – even without a construction site. Because the A10 has long reached its capacity limits in holidaymakers.
To limit alternative traffic, the country introduces transit barriers to five Flachgau municipalities. In Wals, Großgmain, Grödig, Annif and Elsbethen, goal and source traffic is only permitted from 4 July to 7 September. There will be no transit barriers in Tennengau. Because there is only one federal road, you cannot lock it and send people to the highway of the toll. There are Downhill slokes of the A10, but: “Everyone can take a goal in Austria. This is unacceptable,” says Golling’s local Chief Martin Dietrich (Spö).
He wanted to seriously limit the area. Now the place can enjoy a few quiet days. There will also be a festival at the end of the construction site.
