Two accidents involving cars – Mühlviertler and Innviertler died on e-bikes

Two fatal accidents involving e-bikes in one day. In the Mühlviertel and Innviertel, two men have died after being hit by cars.

The first accident happened on Wednesday in Schalchen: a 60-year-old from the Mühlviertel drove her car from Mattighofen towards the center of Schalchen. At the intersection with Braunauer Landesstrasse she wanted to cross it straight ahead. She collided with a 93-year-old local e-bike rider coming from the right. He was pushed to the ground and flown to Salzburg State Hospital, where he died a short time later.

The following accident happened on Thursday in Feldkirchen an der Donau: At 10:35 a.m., a 39-year-old from Pötting drove his car on the B132, Mühllackener Straße, coming from Lacken in the direction of Bad Mühllacken. At the intersection of the B132 with the road to Oberndorf, in the municipality of Bad Mühllacken, an 85-year-old e-bike driver from Goldwörth wanted to cross the B132 straight ahead. He was hit head-on by the 39-year-old, hit his head against the windshield of the car and was then thrown several meters along the B132.

After the collision, the 85-year-old remained motionless in the middle of the B132. The following road users started CPR. The ambulance that arrived shortly after and the emergency doctor took over CPR, but were only able to determine the pensioner’s death shortly after.
