A team from the Vienna professional rescue service rescued an injured fox from Donaufelder Strasse in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Thursday evening. The rescue operation was initially somewhat unusual.
“At first we thought he would no longer be alive,” said two paramedics Thomas Zoth and Richard Laschke. However, when the team approached the fox, they found that the animal still had a heartbeat and was breathing.
“I practically offered him my friendship”
In order to help him, the two tried to gain the fox’s trust. “I offered him friendship as I would a dog,” Zoth said. And it worked: The wild animal, which had probably been hit by a car, became so trusted that the two could even carry it into the ambulance.
The two emergency services immediately notified the nature service in Vienna. “In the meantime, the fox is doing better,” it sounded.
