On Thursday morning, a 32-year-old was caught stealing from a tobacco shop in Vienna-Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus. When the alarmed officers then wanted to take him to a police inspection, the alleged perpetrator suddenly reacted aggressively.
Police say the 32-year-old stole a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from a tobacconist. After emergency services arrived to clarify his identity, he was said to be taken to the Tannengasse Police Station.
The suspect reacted violently
But suddenly the man became extremely aggressive. He attacked one of the officers and tried to headbutt him. The police officer involved was injured in the incident and had to stop working.
The suspect was subsequently arrested but declined to comment on the incident.
