A German in the Tyrolean Pitztal was probably not clear that it can snow at 3000 meters by 3000 meters and it can freeze cold despite the calendar summer. The 19-year-old waded the top of De Wild Ridge in shorts. And then he didn’t dare anymore. He had an emergency call: police helicopters and mountaineers had to move!
“With Snow and Storm: Six -Day Mountain Tour ends because of exhaustion on day one” – and: “Germans of snow and ice saved from Zugspitze!”
Two missions that took place on Monday and Tuesday and the rescuers almost brought their limits to the limit. On Wednesday, a 19-year-old German from Frankfurt am Main was one more about it! In the morning the young man had separated for the High Alpine Tour on the nearly 3000 -meter -high wild ridge in the Pitztal!
Thin jacket and shorts
The 19-year-old adventurer was only dressed in shorts and thin coat. He followed the marked climb, which, according to the police, “was increasingly covered with fresh snow”.
20 centimeters of snow, minus 5 degrees
Around 3.30 pm the German reached the top. However, he was not rewarded with a beautiful view. Because the wild ridge was in the thick fog. At the top it had about 20 centimeters of fresh snow and ice cold minus five degrees!
And it was precisely these conditions that the 19-year-old was doomed. He had to do with fear, no longer dared to descend because of the weather. So the young man, who by the way did not even have a backpack with him, has set an emergency call.
Fully hypotherme and soaked
The crew of the Libelle Tyrol Police helicopter around pilot Hans Schlager brought two mountain rescues to the fog boundary at about 2750 meters above sea level. Operations Manager Fabian Schultes of the Mountain Rescue and another member then rose to the 19-year-old and met him completely hypotherm and soaked.
After the first aid with blankets and jacket, the German then went to the fog boundary with the two mountain reserves, where the police helicopter was waiting. The 19-year-old was then flown to the valley.
German flourishing juicy operations
The German eventually survived the adventure unharmed except the hypotherm. A juicy bill should now be available for him. Because the 19-year-old has to solve the operating costs.
