You pay up to 354 euros per week in Alassio in Liguria for beach loungers in the front row. But the costs do not end at the rental price: costs for showers, toilets, changing rooms or children’s games make the beach day more expensive. Up to 55 euros per day are not uncommon. Free swimming is only possible on a few beaches.
About 30 million Italians and countless tourists – also from Austria – will be attracted by the sea this summer. The paid “Stabilimenti Balnear” are particularly popular, where sun loungers and parasols are rented.
But inflation is clearly noticeable: “Even before the pandemic, the basic set costs less than ten euros a day, today 30 to 40 euros are almost common”, state associations of state protection.
Average price: 212 euros per week
According to a study of “Altraconsumo” under 213 beach baths, prices are now an average of 212 euros per week – an increase of 17 percent since 2021.
- Alassio is the most expensive in Liguria with a maximum of 354 euros per week in the front row, followed by Alghero (251 euros) and Vireggio (217 euros).
- It is the cheapest in Rimini with an average of 150 euros. The prices differ depending on the location – front rows are considerably more expensive.
Free bathing is only possible on a few beaches such as Capocotta near Rome – there are no facilities, but nature and calmness. Young people in particular disappear because they cannot afford prices.
