The wind turbine on the roof of the Paris Cult -Cabaret Moulin Rouge is turning again. The theater celebrated the Restart on Thursday evening with a dance show for the building.
The Moulin Rouge had announced a surprise on Instagram in advance. “Small tip: they are red, iconic … and ready to surprise them.” The official information about Tourist Information “Paris Je T’aime” wrote in an Instagram story, in which the rotating mill wheel can be seen: “The wings of the Moulin Rouge are running again !!”
In April 2024, the windmill wheel of the world-famous Parisian Variety Theater as a whole fell on the sidewalk (see video above). The cause was initially not clear, but sabotage could be excluded.
The wings with a diameter of more than twelve meters are now powered by an electric motor, which is specially made for the entertainment stamp on the Montmartre.
Oldest cabaret in Paris
The Moulin Rouge, who celebrated his 135th birthday last fall, is the oldest cabaret in Paris and one of the sights of the city. The house still shines in sinful red, although the times that it was symbolic for frivolous Paris have long disappeared.
The audience of the entertainment stamp on Montmartre has also changed since then. The Bohemian of the past has given way to tourists from all over the world. The Moulin Rouge is one of the most visited attractions in the French capital.
