On Friday afternoon, a man from Salzburg came to the rescue of a fallen bird. He was injured on the floor of a stairwell in the capital.
“The animal was right in front of the apartment door. It stopped moving, so I took it with me and called the animal rescue service,” says Johannes Gruber. On Friday afternoon, the man from Salzburg found the injured animal in the stairwell. “At first the bird didn’t move at all, but after a few minutes it became more and more alive Gruber says.
Gruber handed the injured bird to the Salzburg Animal Ambulance, who will now check him in their office. “The bird is a so-called swift, ie a protected bird species,” explains animal rescuer Oswin Mair. According to him, the animal would have suffered an impact trauma.
“The animal then moves on to the bird sanctuary. There he is nursed back to health,” says Mair.
