From the decreasing letter volume to the opportunities in the thriving package company, the delivery from Sunday to ambitious projects such as the Post City in Linz – Director -General Walter Oblin took the time to talk to the “Krone” to provide insight into current challenges and future plans of the Austrian post.
“Krone”: Mr. Oblin, recently the post office in Linz also sends packages on Sunday. Who is the offer directed to?
Walter Curls: The service can of course be used by any local dealer, but there are mainly large senders who are willing to pay a premium price for it. And there are recipients who are happy that the package will be delivered on Sundays. Last Sunday alone we delivered around 3,000 packages in Linz.
