Deadly leisure accident Thursday evening in East Tyrol: A 45-year-old downhill biker crashed into the handlebars of a trial motorcycle with full force on the descent in Assling. Both men were injured, one seriously.
The serious accident happened around 7:30 PM: the 45-year-old local was riding his downhill bike on the “Compedalweg” in Assling through the valley when the gravel road collided with the trial rider (19) who was going uphill.
With emergency helicopter in clinic
“Both men fell and were left injured on the ground,” police said. The 45-year-old suffered serious injuries – he was flown by emergency helicopter to the Innsbruck clinic after first aid. The 19-year-old was also injured and was taken to the Lienz district hospital by rescue service.
