Shocking moment for a 47-year-old Thursday evening in the Tyrolean Zillertal: The farmer was on the road with his mower when the vehicle suddenly caught fire. Even before the arrival of the alarmed fire brigade, the man managed to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers, which had brought relatives.
The 47-year-old resident was driving the Mähtrac down the Zillertaler Höhenstraße around 9:30 p.m. when the agricultural vehicle suddenly caught fire. The driver immediately stopped and made an emergency call.
Family members brought fire extinguishers
“Since the farmer was only a few hundred meters from his farm, he had three fire extinguishers brought to the site of the fire. He was then able to extinguish the fire himself before emergency services arrived,” the police said.
The Florianis eventually prevented another flare-up. Fortunately no one was injured. However, the Mähtrac was a total loss.
