The vacation time is in full swing. Lukas Hartlauer of the Chamber of Labor Styria explains what you should consider, so that there are no problems for work.

It doesn’t matter whether on the lake, on the beach or in the outdoor swimming pool around the corner: the Styrians are currently enjoying summer time. Employees are generally entitled for five weeks of vacation. But which rules apply? The “Krone” asked Lukas Hartlaer, Labor Law Expert at AK Styria.

Do I have to read my e -mails and take off on vacation when the boss calls?
“The short answer is: no,” says Lukas Hartlaer. “Vacation is vacation and serves to relax. Business management should not order a willingness or work.” Similarly, you should not have paid your holiday, you must consume it. If you don’t use it within three years, it will go.
