Employees are generally entitled for five weeks of vacation. But which rules apply? The “Krone” asked Lukas Hartlaer, Labor Law Expert at AK Styria.

“The short answer is: no,” says Lukas Hartlaer. “Vacation is vacation and serves to relax. Business management should not order a willingness or work.” Similarly, you should not have paid your holiday, you must consume it. If you don’t use it within three years, it will go.
