The voluntary fire brigade of Millstatt (Carinthia) was called up for an unusual operation. A young Falcon was carried into the Millstatt church and could not find it out.
“We had such a mission for the first time,” smiles Fire Brigade Commander Hannes Zeber from the FF Millstatt. Many young birds are currently fluttering through the air and try to fly in the skilled. A young Tower Falcon was saved during the weekend in Upper Carinthia (we reported).
Wandered through the open door to the church
Now there was a rescue operation for a feathered from Bijter. A young Valk had strayed on Wednesday in the venerable walls of the Millstatt Collegiate Church and no longer found its way. “The Falcon was probably lost by the open access door to the collegiate church. We were informed by telephone of a lady from the Abbey Museum,” says Zeber.
Together with the employee, the Florianis went on Falcon in the church. “At first we didn’t see him at all. Of course you first look in the roof area or at the ceiling, whether he is flying around somewhere. He was standing right in front of us on the Jesus image. He camouflaged well.”
The exhausted young bird was willingly captured by the firefighters, who immediately brought him to the door and opened him. His colleagues were already waiting in the parsonage at the other house. “Then they were gone immediately,” Zeber reveals.
