In Fladnitz an der Teichalm (Weiz district), a hiker discovered a seriously injured man in a meadow on Saturday morning. The hiker found the 31-year-old from the Graz area about 20 meters from his vehicle, which had caused him to crash 140 meters over steep terrain.
The 31-year-old took his car off the road in the Tulwitzviertel district on Saturday evening. He broke through a pasture fence and fell 140 meters over steep terrain.
Walker found injured driver
At around 7 a.m., a hiker noticed the tragic accident. The seriously injured driver of the accident from the Graz-Umwelt district was standing on a meadow about 15 to 20 meters from the vehicle. He still responded, but was badly injured. The rollator immediately provided first aid and alerted the emergency services.
Difficult recovery
Rescuing the injured person is difficult due to the local circumstances. By joining forces, the emergency services were able to remove the man, who was then flown to the hospital in the rescue helicopter (C17). The Tulwitz Fire Department and the victim’s father recovered the totally damaged car.
