The female body found Wednesday in a forest near Innsbruck is a missing 87-year-old from Axams. That was the result of the forensic autopsy.
Since July 15, the 87-year-old local, who suffers from dementia, has been missing at her home address in Axams. A witness testified shortly afterwards that the woman could have gotten into a mailbox in the morning and left it at Innsbruck’s main train station.
Found in a steep forest
On Wednesday around 10 a.m., a female body was found in the city of Innsbruck, near Klosterberg, in the very steep forest area. There were immediate indications that this could be the missing person. The Innsbruck prosecutor ordered an autopsy.
The autopsy performed on Thursday actually showed that the deceased woman was undoubtedly the 87-year-old Austrian. There is no indication of a third party error.
