Several masked men attacked and shot at a money transporter in Cologne in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on Friday morning. Apparently no one was injured. According to the police, the perpetrators slowed down the van around 7.30 in the Marienburg district.
When the doors were not opened, the strangers allegedly fired. The perpetrators left one of their two vehicles behind after setting it on fire. They fled in a dark Mercedes Vito.
Bullet casings were found at the scene, a police spokesman said. The director conducted an extensive search, the crime scene was cordoned off, the forensics team was on duty. It was initially unclear whether the perpetrators looted.
