After the violent storm of Friday evening in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley, a car was discovered overnight in the river Ruetz. Reports say it should be that of a pastor from the valley. There is apparently no trace of the pastor himself. A search is in progress. The Oberbergtal near Neustift was completely covered with mud. People are trapped in alpine meadows.
No one would officially confirm it Saturday morning, but behind closed doors the “Krone” was told that the car found that evening in the Ruetz River belonged to a pastor from the valley. There were no prisoners in it. Now there is fear for the preacher, because until now there would be no trace of him.
In addition, after a mudslide between Fulpmes and Neustift, another suspected buried car is being sought. Two occupants of a car that had been swept away by the rubble were able to be freed from the vehicle on Friday evening. The injured were taken to the Innsbruck clinic.
“Tal rotten who hasn’t yet”
Shortly before a new briefing on Saturday morning, the mayor of the municipality of Neustift, Andreas Gleirscher, found a few seconds to call the “Krone”. “The Oberbergtal was muttered like never before,” said the local manager after a helicopter flight. Several people are trapped in huts. He can’t say how much yet.
In addition, work is underway to provide emergency power to the affected huts.
