Four Moroccans were hidden in the storage box of an articulated vehicle. They were discovered on Wednesday on the A8 near Aistersheim (Upper Austria).
On Wednesday about 1.45 pm, two men drove their vehicle on the Wels autobahn towards Suben and noticed that the storage box on the left side of a Romanian articulated vehicle was slightly open. On closer inspection, the suspicion was confirmed that there were people inside.
Driver ignored attempts to stop
The men tried to stop the Romanian driver, but he did not respond. Wels’ well-informed highway police stopped the articulated vehicle in Aistersheim. The 47-year-old driver opened the storage box when asked. Inside were four people from Morocco between the ages of 23 and 37. The four men were arrested and handed over to the Wels immigration police.
