After the gang rape case, the next horror event follows in Vienna: a 14-year-old dies in the apartment of an Afghan. Drugged and also abused…
The investigation into the serial abuse, including mobile phone videos, of twelve-year-old Anna-Sofia by a 17-member multicultural gang in the hotspot district of Favoriten continues at full speed. The next crime story about abuse is already shocking: this time even with death drama! 14-year-old Sandra (name changed by the editors) from Lower Austria is found lifeless in the apartment of an Afghan man. Crime scene: the neighboring Simmering district of Vienna.
Justice granted protection, extended under Kickl
According to current findings, the 26-year-old suspect may have lured the girl into the community building with drugs. While the student ultimately died of an overdose, the young man who came with the refugee wave in 2015 claims to have had ‘consensual sex’ with her. Initially, his asylum application was rejected; after appeal, the judiciary granted so-called subsidiary protection. This was subsequently extended in 2018 under then FPÖ Interior Minister Herbert Kickl.
Horrible parallels
The state police bureau has now taken over the investigation into the disturbing death. The case has terrifying parallels with Leonie’s murder. The then 13-year-old student was also drugged and leaned against a tree to die after being abused by three Afghans.
“Defenselessness of the rule of law”
Meanwhile, there will be a political summit on Thursday with Constitutional Minister Edtstadler and Interior Minister Karner to lower the criminal age. Minors under the age of 14 currently receive therapy and social workers instead of jail time. Chancellor Karl Nehammer, himself the father of a daughter the age of Anna-Sofia – all seventeen suspected rapists are at large – had denounced the ‘defenselessness of the rule of law’. And demanded via “Krone”: “We have to talk about punishments.”
The Green coalition partner naturally vehemently rejects ‘event-based legislation’. Overall, youth crime (see graph above) is increasing.
