Volodimir Zelenski intervenes via video conference in the Spanish Congress

Date:

The appearance of the President of Ukraine in the Spanish Congress began at 5:20 p.m. and then Pedro Sánchez took the floor.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyhas the remember bombing of Guernica in his speech to the Spanish Congress to explain the situation Ukraine is going through after the Russian invasion.

“We are in April 2022, but it looks like we are in April 1937”he stated during a speech that lasted about ten minutes.

Likewise, Zelensky has called for tougher sanctions against Russia and for Spanish companies like Porcelanosa or Marsans stop doing business in that country.

The Ukrainian president celebrated that “many Spanish companies have stopped operating in Russia” and wanted to “thank” the support of these companies and Spanish society in general.

“But at the same time, I want to address companies like Marsans, Porcelanosa and others that are no longer doing business with Russia,” he claimed, emphasizing that the Russian military is committing “war crimes against humanity”.

For this reason, Zelensky has demanded “strong sanctions”, that the rest of the European countries stop buying oil from Russian companies and that they stop doing business with banks in this country. “How can we allow Russian banks to make a profit while torturing citizens?”has been asked.
