Gold bars, savings books, coins, jewelry and watches – a 65-year-old woman from Wels left her entire fortune in a plastic bag on her doorstep. She had fallen for scammers.
Monday around 3.30 pm, the 65-year-old woman from Upper Austria received a call from a man posing as a police officer. He asked the woman from Wels to put all her valuables and her savings in an opaque bag and put it outside the door.

The reason he gave was that a person near them had been gagged. The assailants were armed and a police officer was injured. The 65-year-old then took her entire fortune and put it on the doorstep. She was also told to lock herself in the toilet and not hang.
A short time later, the woman’s fortune was gone. She suffered damage of almost 500,000 euros.
