Five injured, including a six-day-old baby, claimed a head-on collision in Kirchberg an der Raab, Styria, on Thursday. An ambulance may have crossed the oncoming lane. Fortunately, there was immediately a pediatric surgeon, who also works for the volunteer fire brigade.
The cause of the accident is still unclear, in any case an ambulance should have arrived in the oncoming lane around noon on the L 201 near Kirchberg/Raab. According to the Kirchberg fire brigade, the RK car, which also contained a mother with her six-day-old baby and a patient, collided head-on with the oncoming car, which was driven by a woman from Weizer.
Everyone involved, except the mother, including the passenger in the RK car, were injured to an unknown extent, according to preliminary findings. There is also a pediatric surgeon at FF Kirchberg who was able to drive right to the scene of the accident and help right away!
Eleven firefighters and five police patrols attended and the road was closed to traffic for an hour.
