On Thursday evening, a man from Feldkirch (19) was attacked by two strangers after a visit to Villach and threatened with death. Police are asking potential witnesses for information.
The man from Feldkirch drunkenly left a bar in Villach around 4.40 am on Thursday evening and was approached by two unknown persons. After the men engaged the 19-year-old in a short conversation, they followed him from a distance of about five to ten meters.
“The 19-year-old became frightened and threw his mobile phone and wallet under a trailer parked there in the Draubermen area,” said a police officer. Shortly after, he was stopped by the strangers, one of whom grabbed him by the neck and demanded money. The Feldkirchner still had 20 euros in his pocket, which he handed over to the men.
Threatened with murder
But that’s not all – the victim was also threatened with death if he didn’t hand over his wallet. “Meanwhile, the second suspect went back to the trailer and may have found and stolen the wallet and cell phone,” an official said. The victim was then able to escape. “According to the 19-year-old, both suspects are probably of foreign origin,” the police said.
The total damage amounts to several hundred euros. Police are asking potential witnesses for helpful information at 059133-2292.
