Neighborhood conflict – “Sieg Heil” in apartment building: unconditional prison term

Date:

A long-running neighborhood dispute over noise in an apartment building in Salzburg escalated to such an extent last year that a 30-year-old had to answer for his return to work. His statements resulted in the previous convict being sentenced to 15 months in prison.

A 30-year-old Austrian sat before the jury for reactivation on Tuesday. The forklift driver had repeatedly clashed with his Arab neighbor in an apartment building. The subject of the dispute: the constant noise from the defendant’s apartment. Because his neighbor threatened him with legal consequences, the man responded with “Austrians remain Austrians, Sieg Heil”.

On August 28 last year, the situation escalated completely. Unwilling to accept the constant noise from the apartment of the five-time convicted defendant, the neighbor panicked. He spat at the neighbors, showed a Hitler mustache with his fingers and shouted “Sieg Heil”. The neighbor’s wife filed a complaint.

The verdict of the eight jurors: 15 months unconditional prison sentence. The man accepted the verdict. The prosecutor’s office made no statement.
