Pope Francis spoke to Michele Madonna on the phone in Naples, known as the “rave priest,” Kathpress reports. Francis asked him how he could speak to so many young people, the minister told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica (Saturday evening). Madonna regularly throws parties in the upper town of Naples; Hundreds of young people participate.
These Christian celebrations were the main topic of conversation with Francis, Madonna continued. The 48-year-old himself worked as a DJ for many years before being called to the priesthood. Today he organizes the celebrations for young people – with Christian disco music and moments of prayer.
“Please keep me posted,” the pope concluded the call, Madonna said. The conversation took place last Thursday, but initially he could not confide in anyone, the ‘party priest’ tells the newspaper.
