Suspected murder – 14-year-old died: overdose as cause of death

Date:

The preliminary autopsy result is available in the investigation into the death of a 14-year-old in Marchegg in the Lower Austrian district of Gänserndorf. The Viennese died “with high probability”, according to the Korneuburg prosecutor’s office, of a drug overdose.

The late 14-year-old is said to have been “in a life-threatening state of health” after taking drugs on the evening of March 26 and an 18-year-old acquaintance or friend “failed to provide necessary assistance”. When residents called the emergency services, all help came too late.

Urine test was positive
Several people were in the house. An 18-year-old was then taken to Korneuburg Prison and taken into custody. The accusation is that the rescue was not called or was called too late. Narcotics and paraphernalia for the consumption of narcotics were seized from the residence. A urine test on the suspect was positive for several addictive substances.

It will be several weeks before the final forensic medical report is available. To clarify which drugs the young people have used, “extensive toxicological tests have yet to be performed,” Gudrun Bischof of the Korneuburg prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday.
