Major search for an 84-year-old on Sunday afternoon: The missing person – he had not come home after a garbage disposal in Leoben (Styria) – was found slightly injured.
At around 2pm, a 78-year-old informed police because her 84-year-old husband wanted to take the trash to the garbage island around 9:30am and has not returned since. The woman says his health is life-threatening.
Large-scale operation started
Four police patrols, together with a police dog patrol from Leoben, a rescue dog squadron of the Austrian Red Cross, a police helicopter “Libelle Steiermark” and 20 volunteer firefighters in Leoben-Stadt and Leoben-Göss searched for the missing person.
The man was eventually found around 5:45 p.m. near an inn. The man was taken to the LKH Hochsteiermark. He was unable to provide any information about his whereabouts.
