Changeable weather and sometimes strong winds from the east determine the weather front on Tuesday. Strong wind gusts of up to 80 km/h are to be expected, especially in the north and east of the country. The good news: after the stormy weather, the long-awaited spring follows all over Austria.
Already in the morning hours, the wind speed increased significantly in many parts of Austria. Strong gusts of wind also dominate the weather front in Vienna. The low pressure area “Mirella” is responsible for the sometimes strong to stormy westerly wind.
Also on the north side of the Alps there is a strong to stormy westerly wind, including rain showers. The snow line in the Mühlviertel is initially around 600 meters and increases to 900 meters during the day.
Spring is coming
During the week, strong currents over Northern Europe will cause an unstable and windy weather phase in Austria, especially on the northern side of the Alps. However, temperatures will rise sharply from Wednesday and bring spring-like weather with temperatures of up to 20 degrees.
