Was the rescue successful? – Stray beluga refuses to eat

Date:

The chances of survival of the stray beluga whale in the Seine are diminishing by the day. The mammal, whose natural habitat is in Arctic waters, still refuses to eat. Now it is even being considered to save the beluga whale, which was previously classified as far too dangerous.

“We think it is possible to think about a transport to sea,” Deputy Prefect Isabelle Dorliat-Pouzet told BFMTV in Évreux on Monday. Until now, this option has been ruled out because the wali seemed too weak for that. However, experts now advise to venture the transport towards the English Channel. The White wali also behaved a little more dynamically on Monday than before, Dorliat-Pouzet told the broadcaster.

As the prefecture announced Monday, the beluga whale, which resides in the river lock about 70 kilometers from Paris, is still under expert observation and the fire brigade and gendarmerie are on the scene. The organization Sea Shepherd France reported that the beluga whale is still not eating, but is curious.

Whale to be treated in a saltwater bath
In the early morning, he rubbed himself against the lock wall for 30 minutes, removing stains that had formed on his back. Antibiotics might have helped too. On Tuesday, the stray animal must come to a saltwater bath and receive medical treatment.
