There are still many unanswered questions about the knife attack last Thursday in St. Kanzian in Carinthia. The 61-year-old innkeeper was placed in pre-trial detention – the “Krone” spoke to the innkeeper’s son.
When the 61-year-old landlord is taken to court today, the family is still very concerned about the incident at their restaurant. “It was actually a normal day,” says the 32-year-old son: “The restaurant was well attended. And my father just came back with the groceries.” Meanwhile, two couples with children entered the restaurant and ordered their food.
“You don’t talk to us like that”
When the entrepreneurial family brought the purchases to the store, one of the women with a child walked up and down the terrace. “We almost ran into each other a few times. So we politely asked the woman to go back to her seat,” says the son, who also works as a waiter in the restaurant. And then the situation suddenly escalated. According to the 32-year-old, the argument escalated and when the innkeepers asked the families To leave, the later victim attacked the 32-year-old: “The women wanted to rip the man off me. But it’s a fighting machine.”
“It was an animal attack”
When the 32-year-old’s parents rushed to help, the situation escalated completely. “The Slovenian then pushed my mother to the ground and attacked my father as well. It was an animal attack.”
While the 35-year-old Slovenian continued to mutilate the waiter, the 61-year-old family man grabbed a knife and stabbed him. “My father only defended our family,” says the 32-year-old, who now fears revenge.
detained
The police and the Public Prosecution Service still have to check whether the descriptions of the 32-year-old correspond to the actual course of events. Then in the afternoon the decision: “The judge of the magazine confirmed the urgent suspicion of attempted murder,” confirms Judge Christian Liebhauser-Karl.
