Shocking moment for a paraglider on Saturday afternoon in the Tyrolean lowlands! After his parachute collapsed on one side and the emergency parachutes became trapped, the 32-year-old pilot fell and ended up between two cars in a parking lot. Miraculously, the German was unharmed.
According to the police, the 32-year-old German is an experienced paraglider. Probably thousands of guardian angels flew with him on Saturday. In the area of a landing field in Kössen (Kitzbühel district), his glider suddenly collapsed on one side at an altitude of about 200 meters. This got him stuck. He was unable to return to normal flying position.
Emergency parachutes are packed
Then the next shock: “After the pilot activated the two rescue parachutes, they got stuck in the main parachute,” the researchers describe. The German then spiraled and hit the gravel in the parking lot in a gap between two cars.
Great luck in misfortune: the impact was cushioned by a protector. The pilot escaped unharmed and survived the crash.
