The Viennese Ibo Aslan was only the second Austrian to ever reach the UFC. His debut in MMA Olympus will take place on Saturday night in Atlantic City. We asked the light heavyweight why he has a real ‘love-hate relationship’ with his opponent and why he feels the double pressure despite all odds.
Everything has changed since last summer. With a first-round knockout victory at Dana White’s Contender Series in Las Vegas, Ibo Aslan had at least made the long-awaited leap into the Olympus cage. He will be only the second Austrian to ever compete in the multi-billion dollar Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This increased the sporting reputation, access to social media and also the number of sponsors. Unsurprisingly, better paying contracts are also available.
