A search for a 75-year-old mushroom picker, who had been missing since Saturday in the Tyrolean Wildschönau, came to a sad end on Sunday. The woman could only be found dead by emergency services.
The 75-year-old Amsterdammer went on a mushroom hunt on Saturday in the Wildschönau. After she was unable to return home, relatives alerted the police. The elderly woman’s car was eventually found in Oberau, after which a search was launched in this area.
Around noon there was sad certainty: the 75-year-old was found dead in a forest near Innerpenningberg.
Autopsy was ordered
The exact cause of death is not yet known. An autopsy was ordered by the Innsbruck prosecutor’s office. In addition to the police, mountain rescue services, fire brigade and dog squadrons were deployed. The woman’s body was flown into the valley by police helicopter.
