In an apartment in the Lower Austrian district of Baden, 52 small dogs lived in just 40 square meters. Inspector Coincidence led the police to them. The owner is shown.
The police were actually looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman in the castle park in Pottendorf in the Baden district. The investigation led them to a residential complex where they suspected the suspect. They didn’t find him there. Numerous dogs howling behind another apartment door, however, caught the attention of the officers.
Without food and water
The barking was so persistent that the uniformed officers decided to open the unlocked front door. Inside they found no one, instead they found a total of 52 totally neglected Chihuahuas. Some were locked in transport crates without food and drink, others lay in their own excrement.
The police immediately notified the official veterinarian, who arranged for the dogs to be seized. Several employees of the animal shelter in Baden had to move in to take in the four-legged friends, some of whom were sick. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old owner also came home. A complaint has been filed against the self-proclaimed “breeder”.
