A huge column of smoke set off a fire alarm over Vienna-Liesing. Attentive witnesses alerted emergency services to a fire in Breitenfurther Strasse in the early afternoon.
According to the fire service, it should have only been a meadow and individual brushwood that caught fire, creating a cloud of smoke. The corridor fire spread to about 2000 square meters. After an hour and a half, the fire brigade extinguished the fire.

A burning truck in Vienna-Liesing had already caused a large-scale operation on Friday afternoon. The flames had spread to a commercial building. More than 100 firefighters with 26 vehicles were deployed in Birostraße. The extinguishing work continued into the late evening hours.
