The next fatal accident on the roads in Styria – and he is only 13 years old. The boy was hit by a car with his e-scooter and the fight for his life was lost the night after the accident.
Shock in the eastern Styrian community of Bad Waltersdorf: A 13-year-old was killed in a tragic accident. He was on the road at lunchtime while on vacation with an e-scooter and a cyclist of the same age when the two youths – probably riding side by side – collided with an oncoming car on a right-hand bend.
The car was driven by a 78-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district.
Both boys were seriously injured and were flown with rescue helicopters C12 and C16 to the state hospital in Graz. There was a fight for the life of the e-scooter driver. But as police announced Tuesday, the teen died that same night.
Curve is confusing
The 78-year-old, whose car eventually crashed into a tree, was unharmed. The cause of the fatal accident is still unclear, according to police. The municipal road in this area is narrow and the bend after which the accident happened more than 30 meters later is unclear. The Bad Waltersdorf fire brigade mourns on Facebook, which, like the comrades from Sebersdorf, was on duty in the accident.
