A 55-year-old threatened his ex-wife with a small-bore rifle in Böheimkirchen, Lower Austria, and launched a police operation. The 47-year-old was not injured on Wednesday, according to the management. The heavily intoxicated suspect was arrested and transferred to St. Pölten prison. The background to the action was a relationship dispute.
The Cobra task force, the rapid intervention group and several patrols from the St. Pölten district were called to Hinterberg, a cadastral district of Böheimkirchen, on Monday afternoon. The 55-year-old was arrested at the scene. He offered no resistance and use of the Cobra was subsequently withdrawn.
The 47-year-old testified that her ex-husband had initially asked her to leave the house with her new boyfriend within 15 minutes. Moments later, the suspect fired a small-bore rifle at the passenger door of her parked car. The door was damaged and a window shattered.
Aimed at the woman’s leg
In the apartment building, the 55-year-old is said to have extended his claim and pointed the gun at his ex-wife’s thighs. The suspect then left the property and fired two shots into the air, according to police.
During a voluntary inspection, a small-caliber rifle, a gas pistol, three knives and a bayonet belonging to the 55-year-old were also found in the house. A temporary firearms ban has been issued against the man.
